Course Etiquette

We hope all players enjoy the challenge of the course and have wonderful golfing experience.

Following these steps will help make your round of golf enjoyable for everyone.

• If the group behind are faster, let them through.
• If possible, keep in touch with the group in front.
• Wave the group behind through at the beginning of a ball search, not after 5 minutes.
• The greens, fairways and bunkers will be delighted if you return them to their original state.

Dress Rules

Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club expects Members, Guests and Visitors to conform to a standard of dress that is in keeping with the traditions of the game of golf and reflects the capacity to be both comfortable and fashionable. To avoid the embarrassment of being denied access to the Club, set out below are some simple guidelines on dress that is acceptable both on the Course and in the Clubhouse and that which is not acceptable anywhere at the Club.

On the Course

• Recognised golf wear
• Golf Shoes
• All male players are requested to keep shirts tucked in
• Tailored shorts. (When shorts are worn, sports socks (ankle) or sockettes must also be worn)
• Tailored full and three quarter length trousers
• Skirts

In the Clubhouse

• As above
• Smart casual
• Golf shoes are not permitted in the Dining Room at any time, but are permitted in designated areas of the bar during the Summer Period.

Dress that is NOT Acceptable

• Torn Jeans
• Vests or sleeveless shirts / shirts without a collar
• Wet, muddy and perspiration soaked clothing in the Clubhouse
• Hats in the Clubhouse
• Football / rugby shirts, football / beach shorts
• Mobile phones are not permitted in any area except the Changing Rooms and Car Park but may be carried muted and used in an emergency

Any person not conforming to these standards will be asked to dress accordingly or to leave the course or Clubhouse.

In matters of acceptability the decision of the Secretary, Front of House Manager, Professional or any Committee Member present is final.
